Oki Siksika,

Siksika’s COVID-19 Risk Level advisory is based on current local Siksika Nation context, and is subject to change. Under the current YELLOW – MODERATE RISK level, the following guidance applies:

Gatherings: ~ Community members should limit both informal and formal gatherings.

Masks: ~ Masking and 2 metres physical distancing in all indoor public spaces, workplaces, and places of worship. While alone at private workstations, employees are not required to wear masks.

Mandatory Isolation: ~ It remains a requirement to isolate if you have new and/or worsening illness symptoms, or if you’ve tested positive for COVID-19. ~ Siksika Health Services also strongly recommends isolating if you’re a contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

This is to help prevent spread of the virus by reducing the number of people that an ill person comes in contact with during the time they may be contagious.Workplaces: ~ Meetings held virtually, when possible. For more information, visit

Here are the updated COVID statistics for Siksika Nation. As of June 25, 2021, Siksika Health Services is managing 1 active case of COVID-19. At this time, Siksika Nation is in a position to ease COVID restrictions due to stability in our low case numbers of COVID-19 on the Nation, and our immunization coverage.

Effective June 25, 2021, Siksika Nation will move to a GREEN – LOW RISK level on the COVID-19 Risk Scale. Under the GREEN-LOW RISK status, public health restrictions on Siksika are not lifted completely; restrictions will be eased in phases to prevent spread of the virus on our Nation. Siksika Health has given 3,397 COVID-19 vaccine first doses, and 2,278 COVID-19 second doses to Siksika community members. This means that 66% of eligible Siksikawa have received their first dose, and 44.5% have received both their first and second doses. Our current vaccine coverage is not high enough to prevent spread of COVID-19, only to slow it. In order to reach community immunity, it remains important that Siksikawa receive both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

COVID-19 immunization is available to Siksika Nation members 12+, and for those who live or work in Siksika, on a walk-in basis at the Siksika Deerfoot Sportsplex. The clinic is open from 10am – 4pm on Monday – Wednesday, and 10am-6pm on Thursday – Friday. The aisokinakio’p Immunization Special Forces vehicle is also available to provide mobile immunization for matapiiks in Siksika. Please call Siksika Home Care at 403-734-5695 to book an in-home appointment.
