Siksika Nation Drinking Water Distribution Mainline Break Emergency– Update 4

Siksika Public Works has located and isolated the suspected leak at the Siksika Deerfoot Sportsplex Ball Diamonds. Water restrictions can be lifted as outgoing flows at the Siksika Pumphouse have returned to normal. 

Current Situation:

The leak was phoned in by a nation member who noticed a puddle of water at the ball diamonds on July 28, 2024. 

The Siksika Community systems team arrived onsite and closed valves to isolate the affected area. Once this was done, outgoing water flow returned to normal levels at the Siksika Pumphouse indicating that the leak had been found. 

All Active Water restrictions have been lifted. 

We appreciate your continued cooperation, patience, and support while dealing with this Emergency over the weekend.
