A major spring storm with strong winds and heavy snow is expected over Alberta, beginning Wednesday morning and will cross into Saskatchewan on Thursday and through the day on Friday.
Siksika Nation can expect:
- Strong northwesterly winds with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible across portions of east-central to southeastern portions of the province beginning early Thursday morning.
- The heaviest precipitation is expected to begin on Thursday morning, with 20 to 40 mm of precipitation anticipated by Friday night.
- Prepare for some disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.
- Driving conditions will likely be very difficult. High-sided vehicles could be overturned by the wind. Secure loose objects. If outside, protect yourself from flying or falling debris.
Please be cautious if you must travel or work outdoors. It is recommended that you make arrangements to remain home during this weather.
