Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for our area, with strong winds and heavy snowfall
expected beginning Thursday and continuing into Friday.
Siksika Nation residents are asked to PLEASE SECURE YOUR GARBAGE TOTES AND LOOSE OUTDOOR ITEMS before
the storm arrives.
Strong northwesterly wind gusts of up to 90–100 km/h may cause unsecured garbage totes to blow over or be
carried away, creating dangerous road hazards and litter throughout the community.
- Place totes in a sheltered area if possible.
- Ensure lids are closed securely.
- Avoid placing totes out early unless necessary.
- Secure loose outdoor furniture, tarps, bins, and other lightweight items.
