Due to ongoing dry, windy, and warm conditions, Siksika Nation has officially enacted a Fire Restriction. There is a very high risk of fire spread, especially in dry grassland areas.
What’s NOT Allowed:
- Open fires on public land and in backcountry/random camping areas
- Fireworks and exploding targets without written permission from a FIRE Officer
- New fire permits (none will be issued at this time)
What IS Allowed:
- Safe wood campfires in designated campgrounds and backyard fire pits
- Charcoal BBQs, propane/natural gas appliances, indoor wood fires, and open flame oil devices
Please be aware: Due to rapidly changing weather conditions, this restriction may escalate to a full fire ban with little or no notice.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community safe.
