High Volume of No Heat Calls

Siksika Housing is asking our community for patience as we deal with a high number of no-heat calls this season. 

We know it’s very stressful when your home has no heat. We understand how hard that is, and we want your home warm and safe just as much as you do. 

Our Team Is Doing Everything We Can 

We also want people to know that our staff are working as hard as possible. We are a small team, and some days we are running from home to home without breaks. We drive long distances, work in the cold and try our best to help every family as fast as we can. 

Why Repairs Take Time 

Furnaces are all different, and many need special parts that only come from specific suppliers. These suppliers: 

· Are 1–1.5 hours away, 

· Have very limited stock, and 

· Are closed on weekends. 

Because of this, sometimes we simply have to wait for the right part. This is the same process that non-nation heating companies follow too, nobody can fix a furnace properly without the correct part. 

While We Wait 

While waiting on parts, we do our best to provide temporary heaters to keep your home warm. In most cities, companies don’t provide heaters at all during the waiting period. 

Please Be Respectful 

Housing employees are doing their best in tough conditions, and respectful communication helps everyone. 

Our Commitment 

· We will get to everyone as quickly as possible. 

· We will complete repairs as soon as the correct parts arrive. 

· We will continue doing our best to keep Siksika families warm and safe.
