We are writing to inform you that the Internet Contractor, Cross Cut Directional Boring, is scheduled to begin the installation of fibre optic infrastructure within the Siksika Townsite area.
This construction activities, which includes the development of a drop conduit, backbone network, and the deployment of residential service cables, is expected to significantly will expedite the overall project delivery timeline.
Construction is expected to start the second or third week of August 2024. We will send the residents two weeks and two days’ notice in advance, plus 2’x4’ signs within the community.
That being said, it is expected to:
- Temporary single-lane closures, as required for workplace safety.
- Horizontal directional drilling and vibratory plowing installation techniques.
- Vacuum excavator truck(s) for visually identifying existing buried utilities.
- Member access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
- Access for Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained at all times.
