Siksika Projects

The primary goal for Engineering Services is to deliver projects to a standard by detecting and preventing specific design-related issues before construction begins, this proactive approach will reduce waste and costs through effective project planning. To achieve this, we will focus on five main core pivots:

ISL Engineering and Land Services (ISL) to complete a study for a new wastewater system on the west side of the community. The project is needed because certain sections of the current system are reaching capacity or end of life. To ensure that the system continues to serve the community’s sewage and wastewater collection and disposal needs into the future, a new unified system needs to be planned, designed and constructed.

Completed in 2024, this much-needed expansion will allow more water to be cleaned and processed for the use and consumption of a growing Siksika Nation population. The upgrades also include a building expansion for a new greensand treatment system, reservoir expansion, a standby generator, and pumping and control upgrades.

The Townsite Lift Station Bypass Phase 1 is under construction for short-term facility improvements. The intent of this project is to upgrade the Townsite Lift Station so that line plugging, and low flow problems can be solved. In addition, this will also help increase the sewer service efficiency

Siksika Nation Memorial Hall Project

Project Summary
The Siksika Nation has launched the Memorial Park Buildings Program to address the evolving needs of the community and to accommodate the increased demand for various facilities due to population growth. The program, led by Siksika Nation Engineering Services, aims to enhance the Siksika Memorial Park in Cluny.

The improvements will include upgrading the site’s external landscaping, enhancing the water supply and wastewater systems, constructing a new Memorial Building (formerly Parish Hall), renovating the Crowfoot school into a community center, establishing a new Police Headquarters, and more. Siksika Nation Engineering Services has hired Hatch Limited to provide consulting services for designing and constructing the Memorial Building, formerly the Parish Hall building.
