In partnership with Precision Hot Tapping, Siksika Public Works will be conducting hydrant flushing starting September 29, 2026 in the West side of Siksika.
Hydrant flushing is an important part of maintaining Siksika Nation’s centralized water system. Flushing helps remove accumulated sediment from water lines, allows crews to check water pressure, and ensures hydrants and their mechanical components are operating properly and ready for emergency use.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During flushing, residents in the affected areas may temporarily experience:
• Lower-than-normal water pressure
• Discoloured or cloudy water
These conditions may occur as sediment in the water lines is disturbed during flushing.
IF YOUR WATER IS DISCOLOURED
Run the cold water tap for approximately 10 minutes or until the water runs clear.
If the water does not clear after running the cold water, please contact Siksika Public Works at 403-734-4388.
