Public Works is working full speed to clear snow from roads. We are working hard to make the best use of our resources to serve Siksika in the best way possible.
Priority Order for Services:
- Major Access Ways
- Members on the Siksika Health Priority List
- Elders
- Essential Services (health care facilities, schools, etc.)
- Nation Members
Priorities will be adjusted based on resource availability. We are currently engaging with additional external manpower to support snow-clearing activities. However, we ask for the support of the Nation and avoid nonessential commuting until the Alberta Government alert is lifted.
Important Reminder:
- Please be advised that Public Works staff is not able to assist with vehicle recovery from ditches due to liability concerns. Our equipment and personnel are not equipped to perform this task safely.
- Public Works equipment will not go closer than 50 feet to a house (the only possible exemption is Elders)
