Recurrence of South Camp Wildfire – Assistance Requested
A new flare‑up connected to the South Camp wildfire that first ignited on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 has been detected just west of the original burn area. Public Works staff, Public Safety personnel, and the Siksika Nation Fire Department are on‑site and working together to contain the fire and prevent further spread.
Power Infrastructure Update
Damage to local power‑distribution infrastructure is suspected. Crews are assessing the lines and equipment to isolate hazards and avert additional outages. Please stay clear of downed lines and report any electrical issues immediately.
Immediate Call‑Out for Experienced Trained Firefighters
We are asking all Nation members who hold current Type 1 and/or Type 2 Wildland Fire certifications and are experienced in wildfires to report and lend their expertise. Your skills are critical to keeping our community safe during this emergency.
