RIVER ADVISORY – June 29, 2026

Oki Siksika,

Due to recent increased rainfall, water levels on the Bow River are rising and currents are moving much faster than normal. Siksika Emergency Management is actively monitoring the situation. While community infrastructure remains safe, the riverbanks are muddy, unstable, and highly unpredictable.

For your safety, please adhere to the following:

  • STAY AWAY from the river: Avoid the water’s edge, banks, and all low-lying areas.
  • Keep pets on a leash and away from the fast-moving water.
  • Avoid recreational activities: Save any boating, floating, or fishing for another time until water levels settle.

Please use extra caution if you are navigating local roads, as some areas may be slick or experiencing minor pooling.
