Snowy Weather Advisory – MARCH 25, 2026

Oki Siksika,

While the Siksika Nation remains relatively clear with low snowfall amounts expected, weather conditions deteriorate significantly as you head west. Calgary is currently in the grip of a winter storm that is severely impacting road safety.

Current Hazards in Calgary:

  • Heavy Snowfall: Persistent snow is falling, with local accumulations of 5 to 10 cm expected.
  • Icy Road Conditions: Major routes, including Stoney Trail NW and Deerfoot Trail, are extremely slick with poor visibility.
  • Numerous Collisions: Calgary Police are responding to a high volume of vehicle accidents across the city.

ADVISORY: Those traveling from Siksika into Calgary should exercise extreme caution. While Siksika is largely spared from this system, city roads are hazardous. If you must commute, reduce your speed, increase your following distance, and ensure your vehicle is fully cleared of snow.
