Oki Siksika,
The Siksika Nation Tribal Administration received several reports from concerned Nation members about a video circulating on YouTube that was filmed in Siksika by non-nation member Cory Morgan, who was not given authorization or a permit to visit Siksika for the purpose of filming.
The content of this video shows this individual filming in various locations while sharing misinformation about First Nations issues and discussing a topic without understanding the history or the nuances of various funding agreements with Indigenous Services Canada. In doing so, he is fostering division and
harm.
Trespassing on a reserve or First Nations land is a summary offence under the Indian Act. Legal action is being explored, and the video has been reported to YouTube for violating community standard guidelines for providing misleading information.
