Siksika Nation Chief and Council wish to inform all members of an important update to the Funeral Wake Allowance under the Siksika Nation Funeral Policy.
Following the Band Council Resolution approved on April 20, 2026, Council has formally approved an increase to the Wake Allowance in recognition of the rising costs associated with funeral services and the need to better support families during times of bereavement.
