Oki Siksika,
Siksika Peace Officers continue to keep our roadways safe. Pictured are two counts of dangerous speeding along Highway 547 and 901. These were captured over the last week.
The first picture, a vehicle was going 147 km/h in an 80 km/h.
The second picture depicts a motorist going 50 km/h over the posted speed limit in the flats. The driver was detained as they had warrants from Calgary.
April focuses on speed in the Alberta Traffic Safety Calendar and we want to remind visitors and nation members that speeding puts everyone on the road at serious risk. Higher speeds reduce reaction time and significantly increase the severity of collisions. A ticket, a fine, or a court summons are not the worse thing that can happen.
Slow down to ensure that to ensure that everyone gets home safely. Arrive alive and drive with care.
