Siksika Nation Drinking Water Distribution Mainline Break Emergency – Update 3

Siksika Public Works is actively addressing a critical issue affecting the Siksika Pump House. Water levels at the Siksika Pump House are approaching critical levels due to a rupture in the drinking water distribution mainline.

Current Situation:
Associated Engineering, SFE Global, and Siksika Public Works Community Water and Wastewater personnel are on-site today, working diligently to locate the leak and assess its impact. They are implementing the necessary measures to correct the issue.

In the meantime, Big Sky Water and Vac Services Inc. and Bob Miller Trucking continue to feed water to the Siksika Pump House to help maintain adequate levels and ensure minimal consumption across the Nation.

We now invite all Siksika residents to show support restricting water use to the minimum, until the mainline repair is completed.

Water Restrictions in Effect until further notice:
To ensure continued distribution and address the situation effectively, the following water restrictions remain in place:

• No Water Consumption: Between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
• Restricted Water Use: Between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM, limit water use to the minimum necessary.
• Prohibited Uses: Watering gardens, using sprinklers, and filling pools are not permitted.

Please assist us in conserving water by following these guidelines:

• Shorten Showers: Keep showers under 5 minutes.
• Turn Off the Tap: Turn off the water while brushing teeth, washing hands, or shaving.
• Use Full Loads: Only run dishwashers and washing machines with full loads.
